i got the feature branch fully stable, so we can merge it into dev. this resolves: https://github.com/neomjs/neo/issues/6934
This is an early stage draft PR, not meant for getting merged.
The sole Purpose of this PR is to better keep track of the changes as a whole between the dev and reactive-config branches.
