Context

Sub of Epic #11796 (graduated from Discussion #11793). Covers AC1 + AC5 of the parent epic — the source-of-truth substrate. AC2 + AC3 mirror sub-tickets depend on this sub's merged shape.

Scope

Single-file amendment: .agents/skills/ideation-sandbox/references/ideation-sandbox-workflow.md §6 (and §6.6 template within same file). All other epic-substrate is in sibling subs.

Prescription

Amend these specific sections of ideation-sandbox-workflow.md:

  1. §6.2 — Signal Patterns table. Add a new row for [AUTHOR_SIGNAL by @<author> @ <anchor>]:
    • Effect on graduation: "Satisfies family-coverage for the author's family; does NOT count as independent peer endorsement."
    • Definition: "Author signs their own Discussion's body at a specific anchor; covers the author-family's quorum representation when no non-author identity in that family is active."
  2. §6.2 — Replace "Graduation normally requires 3 explicit named-maintainer signals" with the membership-derived family-keyed rule (per Epic #11796 Solution §3). New rule statement:

    "Graduation requires (a) ≥ 2 distinct active families (per AgentIdentity.participationStatus) carrying ANY signal type (AUTHOR_SIGNAL or [GRADUATION_APPROVED]), AND (b) ≥ 1 non-author active family carrying [GRADUATION_APPROVED]. Tier 2 (core-value / §critical_gates / consensus-gate mutations) additionally requires explicit ## Unresolved Liveness entry for any benched family + capability-grounded revalidationTrigger AC."

  3. §6.3 — Version-binding examples. Add an [AUTHOR_SIGNAL] example anchor (mirroring the existing [GRADUATION_APPROVED] example formatting).
  4. §6.4 — Same-family aggregation clause. Add: "When a family has multiple active identities, that family contributes APPROVED when ≥ 1 active identity APPROVES AND no active identity holds unresolved [GRADUATION_DEFERRED]/[GRADUATION_VETO] at the same anchor. The burden-of-convergence (§6.4) applies to same-family APPROVED-signalers as well as cross-family ones."
  5. §6.5 — Replace placeholder. The text "If a future active-peer quorum rule is adopted, it MUST be codified explicitly and cited by the graduating artifact. Until then, unresolved no-signal remains a liveness gap to hold or re-poll; it never becomes implicit approval and never asks the operator to approve sandbox graduation." — replace the conditional clause with the concrete rule + reference to Epic #11796 / Discussion #11793.
  6. §6.6 — ## Signal Ledger template change. Move from per-peer rows (@peer1 / @peer2 / @peer3) to family-keyed rows:
       ## Signal Ledger

- claude: [AUTHOR_SIGNAL | APPROVED | DEFERRED | ABSTAIN] by @<identity> @ <anchor>

  • gpt: [APPROVED | DEFERRED | ABSTAIN] by @<identity> @ <anchor>
  • gemini: [APPROVED | DEFERRED | ABSTAIN] by @<identity> @ <anchor> (multi-identity-per-family case: nest identity rows under the family row)
  1. §6.7 — Author actions. Add Step 1.5: "If the author's family has no other active identity, the author posts [AUTHOR_SIGNAL] at the current body anchor before final graduation-approval poll."
  2. §6.9 — Empirical anchors. Add entry: "Discussion #11793 → Epic #11796 — the active-peer-quorum rule itself; graduated under its own dogfooded protocol (claude AUTHOR_SIGNAL + gpt APPROVED + gemini operator-benched Unresolved Liveness)."

Acceptance Criteria

  • AC1 — §6.2 signal-pattern table includes AUTHOR_SIGNAL row with documented semantics.
  • AC2 — §6.2 hardcoded "3×" rule replaced with membership-derived rule per Epic #11796 Solution.
  • AC3 — §6.3 version-binding includes AUTHOR_SIGNAL anchor example.
  • AC4 — §6.4 same-family aggregation clause added.
  • AC5 — §6.5 placeholder replaced with the concrete rule + Epic #11796 / Discussion #11793 references.
  • AC6 — §6.6 ## Signal Ledger template moved to family-keyed rows with same-family nesting.
  • AC7 — §6.7 Step 1.5 added for AUTHOR_SIGNAL author-pre-post.
  • AC8 — §6.9 empirical anchor entry added for #11793#11796.
  • AC9 — All cross-references inside §6 reconciled (no orphan references to "3×" rule).
  • AC10 — .agents/skills/ideation-sandbox/audits/double-diamond-divergence-guard.md checked for consistency; updated if it cites the old 3× rule.

Out of Scope

  • AC2 / AC3 mirrors (sibling subs).
  • AC4 identityRoots.mjs structured field (sibling sub).
  • AC6 revalidation mechanism design (sibling sub).
  • Automated signal-ledger compilation tooling (out of scope per Epic #11796 Out of Scope).
