Context
Leaf 5 of Epic #14565 — the ONLY render leaf, deliberately last. Blocked-by the hindcast leaf: it consumes the skill report as a hard gate. Exists at filing time so the lane is fully defined (operator graduation bar, 2026-07-04) — claimable, but structurally inert until leaf 4 emits skill.
The Problem
The sandman handoff says "next: ticket X" and cannot say "you are drifting toward D at the expense of declared E." The render contract is consumer-settled (#14453 OQ4 GROUNDED): the hook is a RENDERING consumer, never a CONTROL consumer (#13751, Grace) — direction enters as DATA layered over the A/D ranked item-set; the agent chooses; no auto-reprioritization. Density bound (GPT sweep 5): a ranked item-set with BOUNDED direction annotations + confidence/error bars — never a forecast dump.
The Architectural Reality
- Render surface: handoff section first; HOME constellation (#13444) later — same ladder.
notAuthority: true (parent #11375 DerivedSignalContract); confidence-scored navigation aid, never hidden authority.
- Fail-open preserved: the live
Selected routed nodes: 0 class must survive — the direction layer annotates an empty route surface honestly, never manufactures or suppresses routes.
- Firewall discipline (#14548-adjacent OQ8): direction/convergence outputs render to human-facing decision surfaces; boot-consumed generator surfaces need the redaction disposition named before this leaf ships into them.
The Fix
A "direction weather" handoff section: per declared anchor — {v_D, s_D, r_D} summary, alignment state (aligned/unattributed/starved), null-model projection ONLY at horizons with demonstrated hindcast skill, error bars from the leaf-4 skill report, each rendered metric carrying its falsifyingQuery reference.
Acceptance Criteria
Out of Scope
HOME/#13444 constellation render; any ranking fold; OQ7 scenario rendering.
